Contact washing done properly
On a car like this the risk is not dirt, it is the wash itself. Every car here is washed by hand using the two-bucket method — one bucket of pH-neutral shampoo, one of clean rinse water with a grit guard — with wheels cleaned first using separate brushes and mitts so nothing off the road ever goes back onto the paint. Panels are worked top-down, the mitt is rinsed constantly, and the lower quarter of the car — where the grit lives — is washed last with a separate mitt.
Wheels, brakes and calipers
Porsche brakes generate serious dust and it bakes on. We use a pH-balanced iron remover, soft woolies for the barrels, and clean around caliper faces by hand. Nothing acidic goes near painted or PCCB-equipped setups.
Soft tops and interiors
Boxster and 911 Cabriolet fabric roofs are cleaned with a fabric-specific product and a soft brush, then dried — no silicone dressings, which block the fabric's water repellency. Interiors in leather or Race-Tex get the same careful treatment as Alcantara: dry brushing and light spot cleaning.
